Affiliate Disclosure

The disclosure

Survival Video Hacks participates in affiliate programs. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We also participate in the ShareASale network and may work with other affiliate programmes for gear we recommend.

When you click a product link on this site and complete a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay does not change. Commission is what funds gear purchases, field testing and the hosting of this site.

How we label links

Product links are marked as sponsored in the page markup and open with rel="nofollow sponsored noopener". Every article containing affiliate links also states it near the gear section, so you always know when you are looking at commercial content.

How products get selected

• Items are chosen for the task, not by commission rate or availability.
• We buy the gear at retail; suppliers do not send review units.
• When something we recommended fails or is superseded, the article is updated.
• If nothing in a category is worth buying, we say so and recommend nothing.

What affiliate income does not buy

It does not buy coverage, a positive verdict, a place in a list, or removal of criticism. Brands cannot pay for a review, and no manufacturer sees an article before publication. If we later publish a sponsored post, it will be labelled as sponsored at the top of the page — and we do not publish sponsored reviews of survival gear.

Pricing and availability

Prices and availability shown by retailers change constantly. Any price band we mention is an indicative street price at the time of writing, not an offer. Always check the retailer's page before buying.

Questions

If you want to know how a specific recommendation was made, ask. Our editorial standards page explains the testing protocol and the privacy policy explains what data a click shares.
