Never hang meat on a tree near camp, and do not smoke your meat in nature like this, especially while camping nearby. Everything he implied should be done in a kitchen, however if you're living in the bush, so to speak, then it should be done at least a hundred yards or more from camp, then it can be monitored by one person every so often. Never hang meat on trees…
Everyone has there ways but if you got no salt and it needs to be done straight away smoking is the best . Good job mate

We Filipino in the north called cordillera still preserving meat by smoke or drying from the sun with salt, this is not because we don't have refrigerator but the taste and smell… this are good to mix with beans..

The formula hasn’t changed for thousands of years. Salt and/or smoke. It can be dolled up with spice for flavor, but the preservation procedure hasn’t changed.
That's not smoke that's steam so you dehydrating your meat or is there something I'm missing I've heard people make this mistake
