Moose encounters are rare, but if you do encounter one, don't panic. Stay quiet and sit/ stand perfectly still. Moose have poor eyesight and can't distinguish colors well. If you "look like a tree" or blend in, they might not know the difference, except that you're a "tree" that smells funny. Be patient, the moose will move on when it knows the "funny smelling tree" isn't a threat.
